Paper waste occurs most often:

  • During splicing
  • Because of an incomplete unwinding of the roll
  • Due to core damage (cores can’t be re-used)

Paper Waste Means Money Waste

Are you aware of how much money your plant is wasting every day, month and year solely on core slippage or an incomplete unwinding of the roll?

How can Duplex solve the core slippage problem?

The Duplexcombines a special mechanical chuck and a pneumatic telescopic piston (6 bar / 87 psi) which is concentric to the chuck.

The Duplex’s mechanical chuck is equipped with jaws with huge contact area (+ 20% contact area compared to the standard chucks).

Moreover with Duplex, the core is perfectly engaged in place from the first phase of work while always ensuring: a perfect and fast grip to any core without damaging the core and a complete unwinding of the roll without any end-of-roll waste.

This is possible due to the minimum space between the high gripping jaws of Duplex and the inner part of the core.

This won’t be a problem for the roll ejection then (as would be instead with standard chucks), because the Duplex pneumatic piston applies a coaxial thrust force of 20,000 N (4550 lb) with the first stage, and a thrust force of 10,000 N (2275 lb) with the second and final stage.
