Magnetic powder brakes and clutches are ideal in the converting industry for printing machines, labelling and flexible packaging. The brakes are employed on unwinders and clutches on rewinders

Designed for a long service life, Powderex brakes and clutches can be easily fitted on any converting machine.
The electromagnetic coil of the brake generates a variable and controlled magnetic field which directly modifies the magnetic powder viscosity that controls the torque transmission between the external and the internal rotors.
The device acts as a brake when the external rotor is fixed, otherwise it acts as a clutch.
Powderex has a wide range of sizes, offering solutions to all drive problems requiring torque between 3Nm and 170Nm. Available in standard version or equipped with radiator or with fan for high-power applications.
